Supporting Independent Fundraising Events with Greater Impact

We are continually inspired by the creativity, generosity, and passion of our DSACO community. From golf outings and restaurant give-back nights to neighborhood walks, bake sales, and social media campaigns, independent fundraising events have helped power opportunities for people with Down syndrome and their families across Central Ohio for many years.

Because of that incredible support, we are excited to launch a new registration process for independent fundraising events benefiting DSACO.

This process was developed thoughtfully and intentionally, largely in response to questions, ideas, and feedback we’ve received over the years from team captains, volunteers, and community supporters who wanted clearer guidance and stronger partnership from our team.

Our goal is simple: to better support the people who support DSACO.

By registering fundraising events in advance, we are able to:

  • Better support, promote, and even attend more community events

  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging that reflects DSACO’s mission and values

  • Properly acknowledge and steward donors who generously support our work

  • Better understand when funds will be received and how they should be allocated

  • Ensure compliance with local laws and nonprofit regulations required to maintain our 501(c)(3) status

Most importantly, this process allows us to build stronger relationships with the people, families, businesses, and organizations who choose to champion DSACO through fundraising.

We know that hosting an event takes time, energy, and heart. Whether you are organizing a small neighborhood fundraiser or a large annual event, we want you to feel equipped, supported, and connected to the impact your efforts create.

To help make that easier, we’ve also created a new Independent Fundraising Toolkit filled with ideas, planning tips, promotional resources, FAQs, and helpful guidelines to set your event up for success.

Community-led fundraising continues to be an important part of how we expand programs, advocate for inclusion, and support families throughout every stage of life. We are grateful for every person who chooses to be part of that mission.

Thank you for helping us continue to discover a lifetime of opportunities together.
