ElevateDD Voices Fellowship

Policies and systems shape access to education, healthcare, employment, and community life. When people with lived experience are part of the conversation, policies are stronger, more inclusive, and more responsive to real needs.

The ElevateDD Voices Advocacy Fellowship is a year-long program designed for adults with developmental disabilities to ensure that their voices are heard, respected, and included in the decisions that affect their lives.

During the fellowship, participants will:

  • Learn how policies and systems impact people

  • Build skills in leadership and advocacy

  • Practice sharing stories and experiences

  • Connect with guest speakers, other advocates, and community leaders

  • Visit the Ohio Statehouse to learn how the legislative process works

Workshop topics include building a personal advocacy message, learning about voting and elections, understanding the Bill of Rights for people with disabilities, practicing active listening, and getting connected to disability organizations in your community.

Fellows will also complete a capstone project such as leading or helping with a service project, speaking about an issue that matters to them, or exploring involvement in a work group or advisory committee.

Applications for the Voices Fellowship are now Closed.
