Leadership Access Scholarship

This scholarship helps reduce financial barriers to event registration so people with developmental disabilities and their family members can participate in Ohio-based learning and leadership opportunities that support advocacy, systems learning, and community engagement.

To be considered for funding, applications must be submitted at least 30 calendar days before the event or leadership opportunity begins. If you need help or an accommodation to complete this form, please contact ElevateDD.

Guidelines

Leadership Access Scholarships are available to:

  • People with developmental disabilities

  • Family members of people with developmental disabilities

Applicants must be seeking opportunities to participate in conferences, trainings, workshops, or events focused on leadership development, systems learning, advocacy, or community engagement. Eligible events must take place within the state of Ohio. ElevateDD may prioritize opportunities such as family leadership summits, developmental disability conferences, and statewide gatherings that strengthen leadership capacity and collaboration.

Scholarship Coverage

Eligible expenses:

  • Event registration fees for approved Ohio-based events matching the description above (multiple submissions allowed; $1,000 lifetime maximum per person).

Ineligible expenses:

  • Funds cannot be used for anything besides Ohio-based events as described above.

Selection Considerations

Scholarship awards are based on:

  • Alignment between the event and the goals of leadership development, learning, and community engagement

  • Available funding

  • The applicant’s interest in contributing their perspective to leadership, advisory, or shared decision-making spaces
