Dr. Larry Erhuvwuoghene Onokpite is an interdisciplinary researcher and educator. Before joining ElevateDD, he served as a Graduate Research Associate at West Central School, operated by the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

His research broadly focuses on reading (disabilities), cognition, literacy, and theory development. He has presented his work at national and international conferences and serves as a reviewer for several academic journals.

Larry has also held teaching, research, and academic development roles at The Ohio State University, the University of the Witwatersrand, and Tshwane University of Technology. Having studied and worked in Nigeria, South Africa, Canada, and the United States, he brings an international and interdisciplinary perspective to his work.

Larry recently completed his PhD in Special Education at The Ohio State University. He also holds a Master of Education in Literacies, Languages, and Literatures; a Bachelor of Education with Honours; a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy; and an associate degree in Science (Biology) Education. Outside of his professional work, Larry enjoys running marathons.
