Kelly Kuhns

Program Coordinator of Medical Outreach

Kelly Kuhns graduated from Columbus State Community College with an associate’s degree in nursing and later earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Ohio University. Her background includes experience as a registered nurse in the emergency department, labor and delivery, and case management.

In 2025, Kelly accepted the position as the Program Coordinator of Medical Outreach for DSACO. Kelly’s involvement with the organization began in 2017 as a volunteer parent mentor and facilitator of MOMs Night. She has also dedicated her time to educating medical professionals on how to deliver a Down syndrome diagnosis with compassion and provide meaningful support to families.

A lifelong resident of Plain City, Kelly lives with her husband, Luke, and their three children. Their youngest son, Oliver, was born with Down syndrome in 2015. Since Oliver was two years old, Kelly has been advocating for inclusion and testifying at the State House. She credits DSACO for helping her family through resources such as hospital care packages and community funds, as well as through events that have allowed her older children to experience the vibrant and supportive Down syndrome community.

In her free time, Kelly enjoys spending time with family, traveling, gardening, and reading.

Kelly’s goal is to improve the health and well-being of people with Down syndrome by providing healthcare education, resources, advocacy, and community support.
